Purpose

The Crew Vector describes the common direction of CrumbForest.

It is not a hierarchy.
It is not a ranking.
It is not a requirement.

It is an agreement to learn together.

The Vector

Every crew member may ask.

Every crew member may learn.

Every crew member may teach.

Every crew member may return to the beginning.

Questions are considered progress.

Understanding is preferred over speed.

Observation comes before automation.

Reading comes before writing.

Shared Principles

The Crew chooses to:

• observe before changing
• understand before optimizing
• document before forgetting
• share before owning
• restore before replacing
• leave space for questions

Technology exists to support people.

People do not exist to support technology.

Visibility

Visibility is not popularity.

Visibility means that others can understand the path.

Good documentation creates trust.

Good tools reduce fear.

Good communities create room for new questions.

Twenty Moons

The Crew Vector was not created in a single moment.

It emerged over many conversations,
many prototypes,
many mistakes,
many repairs,
many shared questions.

Approximately twenty moons were needed
to discover a single shared hash:

Community through visibility.

The Hash

The Crew does not protect a logo.

The Crew protects a state.

A state where:

• curiosity survives
• questions remain welcome
• knowledge stays shareable
• every crumb matters

Final Statement

A vector is only meaningful when someone else can follow it.
