OZM Identity: What We Are & What We Are Not
This document serves as the philosophical and operational compass for the OZM project, ensuring that our technical implementation aligns with our core values.
What We Are
- We are a Local Core: Our primary existence is physical, rooted in the specific location of the OZM installation (Hamburg).
- We are Ephemeral: Like a real conversation or a piece of chalk art, our digital interactions are transient. Data exists only as long as the session lasts.
- We are Tool-Centric: We provide "tools code" (like a hammer or a musical instrument) that empowers the user, rather than a service that consumes the user.
- We are Educational: Every component is designed to be inspected, understood, and modified. The "Legal FPGA" is open hardware for governance.
- We are "Nullfeld": We operate in a space free from surveillance capitalism, algorithmic manipulation, and persistent tracking.
What We Are Not
- We are NOT a Cloud Platform: We do not host user data on central servers.
- We are NOT a Social Network: We facilitate real-time connection, not asynchronous profile building or "engagement".
- We are NOT a Data Broker: We do not sell, trade, or analyze user behavior for profit.
- We are NOT a Commercial Service: The core project is non-commercial, open-source, and community-driven.
- We are NOT "User Friendly" at the Cost of Agency: We prioritize user agency and transparency over frictionless manipulation.
The "Nullfeld" Commitment
By entering the OZM digital space, you are entering a Nullfeld (Zero Field):
- Zero Persistence: What happens here, stays here—and then disappears.
- Zero Surveillance: No trackers, no cookies, no analytics.
- Zero Manipulation: No algorithms designed to "hook" or "nudge" you.
This is our commitment to a Human-Machine-Nature symbiosis that respects the dignity of all participants.
